Jordan Showcases AI Innovation, Digital Transformation at GITEX Global 2025

13-10-2025 02:41 PM

Ammon News - The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship is participating in GITEX Global 2025, which opened in Dubai on Sunday and runs through October 17, to highlight Jordan’s advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation.

In a statement issued Monday, the ministry said Jordan’s participation features a dedicated pavilion for the Jordan Artificial Intelligence System Support Project (JAIS), designed to showcase the outcomes of completed projects, highlight Jordan’s experience in developing a comprehensive and sustainable national AI ecosystem, and strengthen the Kingdom’s position as a regional hub for emerging technologies and digital entrepreneurship.

The ministry added that the pavilion will present several pilot projects implemented in collaboration with partners from the public and private sectors, as well as academic institutions, including Iqra Tech, Tarjama, GrowTech, specializing in smart agriculture technologies, Algebra, which focuses on energy monitoring solutions, and Al Hussein Technical University. These entities have developed innovative AI-driven solutions across vital sectors such as energy, agriculture, and public services.

According to the ministry, the JAIS project is being implemented under a technical cooperation agreement between the ministry and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The agreement seeks to establish a sustainable national AI ecosystem in Jordan by promoting collaboration among public, private, and academic sectors and supporting innovation in key economic areas.

The project has already delivered several AI applications across energy, agriculture, and government services, including models for predicting electrical loads, enhancing energy efficiency, improving government data quality, forecasting soil properties, and determining optimal irrigation schedules. It also developed an AI-powered smart assistant system for the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority capable of responding to investment and tourism inquiries in both Arabic and English.

The ministry noted that Jordanian academics are implementing the project in partnership with public and private entities, with future plans to expand its scope to new projects aligned with national priorities and to accelerate the transition toward a knowledge-based digital economy.
