Jordanian researcher Yaghi wins 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry

Ammon News - Jordanian scientist Omar Yaghi was awarded the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry on Wednesday for his "pioneering" work in developing metal-organic frameworks (MOFs).

Posted on its official page on the X platform, Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences announced this year’s award was jointly granted to Yaghi, Susumu Kitagawa, and Richard Robson for their development of revolutionary materials known as MOFs, which have transformed the chemistry fields and advanced materials. This year’s winners share a total prize of 11 million Swedish krona.

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry is one of the world’s most prestigious scientific awards, dating back nearly a century, in addition to the global recognition it receives.
