Moroccan Justice Delegation Visits Jordan’s Anti-Graft Body

Ammon News - A delegation of Morocco’s Ministry of Justice Monday took a first-hand observation of the Jordanian Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission's (JIACC) role in combating graft and promoting integrity.

Welcoming the team, led by Moroccan Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi and comprising Moroccan Ambassador to Jordan Fouad Akhrif and Director of Criminal Affairs Hisham Malati, JIACC Chairperson Muhannad Hijazi noted the deep-rooted and longstanding ties between Jordan and Morocco.

He said the visit is part of ongoing cooperation between public administration institutions in the two kingdoms, and reflects coordination between the anti-graft body and its Moroccan counterpart at Arab, regional, and international levels.

Hijazi highlighted the Commission’s efforts to promote integrity values and combat corruption, with emphasis on proactive and preventative measures.

The Moroccan minister noted prospects of enhancing bilateral cooperation, highlighted his country's efforts to fight corruption and rumor.

Director of the Institutional Development Directorate at (JIACC), Asem Jadoua, briefed the delegation on the Commission’s powers and acts defined as corruption under the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Law.

He explained the objectives of the National Integrity Index, which measures public institutions’ compliance with national integrity standards. He also detailed updates for the 2024-2025 cycle, which targets 119 government entities, including ministries, departments, independent institutions, universities, and hospitals.
