Ammon News - Jordan and Morocco have signed a landmark cooperation agreement to establish the first Jordanian-Moroccan vocational training institute in Amman.

The agreement was signed in Rabat by Minister of Labor and Chairman of the Vocational Training Corporation, Khaled Al-Bakaar, and Morocco’s Minister of Economic Integration, Small Enterprises, Employment, and Skills, Younes Sekkouri.

According to the Ministry of Labor, the two sides agreed to immediately begin preparing the executive plan and laying the foundation stone for the project, which will be developed in three phases on an 11-dunum plot of land allocated by the Jordanian government on Airport Road in Amman.

Al-Bakaar emphasized that the agreement reflects the strong historic ties between the two kingdoms, underscored by the close relationship between His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Majesty King Mohammed VI. He highlighted Jordan’s appreciation for Morocco’s support and expertise, which will help train Jordanian youth to meet labor market needs.

He noted the importance of leveraging Morocco’s advanced experience in vocational training, known locally as "Takw?n Mahani," particularly in employment-oriented programs and apprenticeships.

As part of the cooperation, Al-Bakaar reviewed Morocco’s "Tvet Ecosystem" vocational model, which will be adapted to support Jordan’s efforts in preparing its youth for professional opportunities.

Ambassador Ghunaimat praised the Moroccan government and Minister Sekkouri for their efforts in reaching this milestone in bilateral cooperation, describing it as a "bright step" in the relations between the two nations.

Minister Sekkouri reiterated Morocco’s commitment to strengthening ties with Jordan, stressing the need to accelerate the technical and executive processes to bring the project to fruition.

Al-Gharaibeh added that the Vocational Training Corporation has reached an agreement with Morocco’s Office of Vocational Training and Employment Promotion, headed by Loubna Atrisha, to launch training programs in priority fields. These include health and pharmaceutical specialties, electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance, precision electronics, advanced digital skills, and Moroccan culinary arts and hospitality.

He further confirmed that additional specialties will be developed based on Morocco’s successful vocational training experience, which will also include exchange programs and opportunities for Jordanian trainees to study in Morocco.
