Ammon News - DARAA - The first Hijaz railway tourist trip arrived on Friday coming from Jordan to Daraa city with 350 tourists onboard.
Assistant Director-General of the General Establishment for Syrian Hijaz Railway Mohammed Othman said in a statement to SANA that this step completes the previous step initiated by the Establishment earlier this month by utilizing its trains to transport goods between Damascus and Amman.
He added that The Establishment is further bolstering cooperation ties with the Jordanian Hijaz railway to transport passengers and goods, calling on economic and commercial activities in the two countries to make use of the advantages of transporting goods such as safety, encouraging prices and competitiveness.
For his part, Director-General of the Jordanian Hijaz Railway Gen. Mahmoud al-Khazaeleh said that this trip is the first of its kind for this year. It set off from Amman in coordination with the Syrian Hijaz railway to encourage and activate tourism between the countries.
