Ammon News - The Southern Military Zone, in coordination with the military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs using a drone on Wednesday evening on its western front, an official military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF)-Arab Army announced.

In a statement, the source added that border guard forces in the zone implemented the rules of engagement after monitoring and tracking the drone.

The drone was intercepted and downed inside Jordanian territory, and the seized items were transferred to the relevant authorities, the official said.

The source affirmed that the Jordanian Armed Forces will continue to harness its various capabilities and potential to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling operations, in order to preserve the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
