Ammon News - Former Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Jawad Anani stated that Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan's trip to the United States may lead to agreements with the U.S. administration to reduce customs duties.
Anani told Ammon that the Prime Minister may succeed in reducing the customs duties imposed by Trump on Jordan from 20% to 10%.
He stressed that Hassan's visit to the United States complements what His Majesty King Abdullah II began, and aims to discuss the outstanding economic and financial issues between the two countries, most notably aid and budget support.
One of the most important issues Hassan is handling in Washington is U.S. aid to Jordan and the possibility of restoring it, particularly direct support to the general budget, Anani explained.
