Ammon News - The Government Media Office in Gaza announced Sunday that the number of journalists killed since the onset of the Israeli assault has risen to 210. This follows an Israeli airstrike on a journalists’ tent near Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza.
The strike claimed the life of journalist Hilmi al-Faqawi and left nine others wounded in the surrounding area.
In its statement, the media office condemned what it called the intentional targeting of Palestinian journalists by Israeli forces. It urged the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and global media organisations to speak out against what it described as systematic violations against journalists working in Gaza.
The office also appealed to the international community and legal institutions to pursue accountability in international courts, stressing the need for urgent and effective action to stop what it referred to as acts of genocide, protect journalists, and prevent further attacks on media professionals.
