24-hour operations at Jaber Border Crossing starting March 23

17-03-2025 12:54 PM

Ammon News - The Ministry of Interior has decided, in coordination with relevant authorities, to maintain operations at the Jaber border crossing with the Syrian Arab Republic 24 hours a day, starting Sunday, March 23.

This decision comes after coordination with the Syrian side, and the adoption of all necessary measures to ensure efficient continuity of operations, and the provision of all logistical and security facilities to ensure smooth movement at the border crossing.

With this decision, the operating hours at the Jaber border crossing will now be aligned with those at the Al-Omari border crossing with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The decision, which coincides with the approaching Eid al-Fitr holiday, which is expected to witness an increase in passenger traffic, aims to facilitate procedures related to passenger departures and cargo transfers, and reduce waiting times.

It also contributes to supporting and enhancing trade exchange and stimulating economic activity between Jordan and Syria, as the center is currently witnessing heavy freight traffic and active passenger traffic.
