Unseasonably warm temperatures across Jordan Monday

Ammon News - Temperatures on Monday will be unseasonably warm across Jordan, with temperatures ranging 9-10 C above the seasonal average, according to a report by the Meteorological Department.

Most regions will see warm conditions, while the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba will be hot. High-altitude clouds will appear, and winds will be moderate southeastern, shifting to southwesterly in the afternoon.

On Tuesday, a slight drop in temperatures is expected, with relatively warm weather prevailing in most areas and relatively hot conditions in the Jordan Valley, Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Some medium- and high-altitude clouds will appear, while moderate westerly winds will occasionally become active.

A more significant change is forecast for Wednesday as the country gradually comes under the influence of a cold air mass preceding a depression.

Temperatures will drop noticeably, with mild daytime weather in most regions and relatively cold conditions over high mountain elevations.

Low-altitude clouds will develop, and moderate westerly winds will gradually intensify by noon, potentially stirring dust in desert areas.

By evening, intermittent rainfall is expected in northern Jordan, gradually extending to central regions and reaching southwestern areas late at night. Some rain may be heavy for a short period in the north. Winds will be active westerly, increasing the sensation of cold.

Temperatures will continue to drop on Thursday, falling slightly below their seasonal average. The weather will be relatively cold and partly to mostly cloudy in most areas, with intermittent rain in northern Jordan and parts of the central regions.

Winds will be active westerly with strong gusts, reaching up to 60 km/h in some areas, causing dust in eastern and southeastern Jordan.

The maximum and minimum temperatures expected today are 28 C and 15 C in East Amman, 26 C and 13 C in West Amman, 26 C and 13 C in the northern highlands, 25 C and 11 C in the Sharah highlands, 30 C and 14 C in desert areas, 29 C and 15 C in the plains, 36 C and 18 C in the northern Jordan Valley, 37 C and 20 C in the southern Jordan Valley, 36 C and 21 C at the Dead Sea, and 36 C and 22 C in the Gulf of Aqaba.
