Ammon News - The Anti-begging units at the Ministry of Social Development have arrested 335 male and female beggars since the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, bringing the total number of beggars arrested since the beginning of 2025 to date to 1,820 male and female beggars, as part of 1,150 campaigns carried out by the Ministry’s cadres in various parts of the Kingdom.

The ministry confirmed on Tuesday, that it has intensified its campaigns to combat begging during Ramadan, via its committees deployed around the clock, especially in commercial markets, traffic lights and public places, in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate and judicial authorities.
