IEC: We are committed to fully adopting modern technologies in election

24-02-2025 01:59 PM

Ammon News - The Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced Monday that voters will be able to use the digital national ID through the "Sanad" mobile application in addition to physical ID cards in upcoming elections.

The commission's chief commissioner, Mousa Maaitah, made the announcement during a media briefing attended by Civil Status Department Director Ghaith Tayeb and commission board members.

Maaitah said the commission has completed digitizing all phases of the electoral process in cooperation with the Ministry of Digital Economy and the Civil Status Department. The move aligns with Jordan's national digital transformation strategy.

"We are committed to fully adopting modern technologies in election management to improve and streamline electoral procedures while reducing human error," Maaitah said. He added that the digital integration would save time and effort. Petra
