Hebrew media announces Israel's defeat

20-01-2025 12:18 PM

Ammon News - The Hebrew media expressed their anger at the Israeli occupation army and government, after the scenes shown by the Palestinian resistance in the Gaza Strip, Hamas, yesterday, Sunday, during the implementation of the prisoner exchange, and the wide deployment in the Strip.

The Hebrew media considered that the Israeli occupation was defeated in its battle with the Palestinian resistance, after a year and 3 months of pounding the besieged Strip for years, with bombs, missiles and artillery, and only succeeded in destroying buildings.

The former head of the occupation's security council, reserve general Giora Eiland, said that Hamas won, describing what happened as a resounding failure for Israel.

The Hebrew newspaper Maariv quoted him, according to what was monitored by Ammon, confirming that "the war is over and will not be renewed. This war is a resounding Israeli failure in Gaza and Hamas won."

The Israeli analyst and writer Noam Amir was surprised by the resistance's ability to show its strength after more than a year of war and destruction.

He said in an article published by Channel 14, monitored by Ammon, that after a year of war, Hamas is still able to show itself in the streets of Gaza, despite the widespread destruction and the IDF's promises to dismantle its capabilities.

He added that there is one description for what happened, which is "failure...military failure," even though most of the Gaza Strip is destroyed, and life there will find it very difficult to recover over the next decade, but the truth is that when we see the white Hamas trucks in the Strip, we must wonder how, after a year and a quarter of fighting, it was able to show such strength.

He continued: "Military failure is the most appropriate definition. This happened, we should not have reached it - not today, not in October. The IDF pledged to achieve the collapse of Hamas' capabilities by the end of October. But now we are at the end of January, and instead of weakening Hamas, we see a show of strength in the streets of Gaza."

As for the Minister of Finance of the occupation, Bezalel Smotrich, he criticized the hostage deal again this morning, Monday, in an interview with the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, and attacked the Chief of Staff, Herzliya Halevi, who he claims does not seek to achieve victory in the war.

Smotrich said, "If it were up to me, the three women who were kidnapped a long time ago could have been released in other ways."

Smotrich then criticized Halevi harshly, saying, "I like the Chief of Staff, but there is a huge failure here. With this Chief of Staff, you can fight, but you will not win."

Israeli writer, Professor Avi Bareli, also stressed that the General Staff failed to fulfill the mission assigned to it by the government, as months passed and it failed to eliminate Hamas in the Gaza Strip as a military and governmental force, and at the same time it failed to release the hostages, and the failure here stems from weak force building and a false concept of mental deterrence.

They have reached their lowest point, "with the exception of some rescue operations, we failed on the operational and intelligence level and were unable to rescue the hostages, and the failure stems from the inappropriate attack plans," he said in an article published by the newspaper "Israel Today", which was monitored by Ammon.

Netanyahu government is responsible for the failure of the General Staff, and the arguments it defends itself with, such as that it has increasingly lost control of the army, will not help, and Netanyahu and the Likud party are the ones who bear responsibility, he added.

He pointed out that Israel is now in a strategic predicament, and the Chief of Staff of the Army Herzi Halevi and his men must be replaced quickly in the current period of calm. On the other hand, the current government still bears the responsibility for saving the State of Israel from the trap.

He stressed that the General Staff must be replaced now, while the government can only be replaced by those who appointed it, i.e. the voters. But the elections now mean a serious defeat for Israel.

Channel 12 reported that the Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas, still maintains its strength despite the long war, confirming that it is present everywhere in the Gaza Strip and has complete control over it.

This sparked widespread anger in Israeli circles, as Hebrew websites wondered how such a large number of Qassam members and vehicles appeared. The comments included: “Where did they come from? And where were our soldiers all this time?”

The controversy extended to a state of confusion in the Hebrew media, which described the scene as crazy and incomprehensible, indicating that the Gaza Strip appears to be “all elite” fighters. Some analyses wondered: “Was there a real war at all?”

The comments also included questions about “Where did they come from? Where did this number come from? Where were all these vehicles? And what have our soldiers been doing there for more than a year? This is crazy and beyond comprehension!”
