16-01-2025 09:20 AM

Ammon News - Minister of Government Communication and Spokesperson Mohammad Momani, said on Thursday that Jordan welcomes the ceasefire agreement to halt the aggression and end the killing in Gaza and the West Bank.

In a post on X, Momani noted: "We proudly and honorably recall Jordan's historic, brotherly and dignified Arab stance in solidarity with the Palestinian people. We have always been and will remain the closest to our brothers in Palestine, exerting greatest efforts to defend them and their just cause."

We have mobilized our political, diplomatic, media, and humanitarian resources to stand for the Palestinian people. His Majesty King Abdullah II has leveraged his stature and international connections to support the just Palestinian cause. His efforts played a pivotal role in reshaping the global public opinion regarding the aggression on Gaza, Momani added.

"The Jordan Armed Forces and security agencies have undertaken a commendable and honorable role. Jordan was the first to break the blockade, delivering humanitarian aid, medical services and field hospitals to Gaza and the West Bank. The Air Force and the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization, which sent aid to the defenceless people under bombardment, bear witness to Jordan's historic stance— one that will remain engraved in the history of humanity. Today, we continue by sending the largest convoy of aid to Gaza," he stated.

Momani continued by saying: "The unwavering support of the Jordanian people for the Palestinians speaks volumes about the greatness of Jordan and Jordanians, whose King personally led the effort to deliver aid to the people of Gaza."

Momani emphasized the necessity of returning displaced people to northern Gaza and taking immediate steps to rebuild, ensuring the Palestinian people remain steadfast on their land.

He also affirmed the necessity of the return of the displaced people to northern Gaza and taking immediate steps to rebuild, to ensure the steadfastness of the Palestinian people on their land.

"Peace cannot be achieved without justice, nor without granting the Palestinian people their natural right to self-determination, like all other peoples of the world. This can only be realized through a political process culminating in the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on Palestinian soil, with Jerusalem as its capital," he added.

The minister concluded: "We call on all proud Jordanians to remember with pride Jordan's honorable stances, those of its people, its leadership and its army, toward wounded Palestine."
