Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs welcomed, on Wednesday, the announcement of a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
The ministry commended the efforts of Egypt, Qatar, and the United States in securing the agreement, urging adherence to its terms.
Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi called for an immediate international effort to provide sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to address the "catastrophic" humanitarian impact of the Israeli war on Gaza.
He called for efforts to rebuild Gaza and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Safadi affirmed that, under the guidance and direct oversight of His Majesty King Abdullah II, Jordan will continue to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza and support the Palestinian people in their pursuit of full, legitimate rights and a just peace.
He urged collective efforts to solidify the ceasefire and use it as a foundation for creating real opportunities to achieve a fair and comprehensive solution.
He said a solution to the conflict should establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, noting that a two-state solution is the "only way" to realise peace.
