Jordan ranks first in Arab world, 20th globally in cybersecurity index

Ammon News - Jordan ranked first in the Arab world and 20th globally in the National Cybersecurity Index (NCSI), which is considered the second most important index after the index issued by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

The Czech Republic ranked first in the world, while the United States ranked 11, according to NCSI.

As for the Arab countries, Morocco ranked 25, Tunisia 26, Bahrain 29, Saudi Arabia 34, Egypt 42, Oman 43, Qatar 45, and Kuwait 48.

It is noteworthy that the number of countries included in the index so far is 61 countries, and the remaining countries will be included successively when they are ready for the index.

The former director of the National Cyber ​​Security Center, Bassam Maharmeh, said in a post on LinkedIn that the National Cyber ​​Security Index (NCSI) is issued by the EGA Foundation, which is a national government agency in the Republic of Estonia, which is considered one of the leading European countries in the field of digitization and cybersecurity. This index is considered the second most important after the Global Cyber ​​Security Index (GCI), in which Jordan ranked (27) in its latest edition in 2024.

It is noteworthy that Jordan advanced 44 places in the Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) and obtained a rank of 27 globally based on the report issued by the International Telecommunication Union for the year 2024, compared to a rank of 71 globally in the 2020 report.
