Ammon News - Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Lina Ennab, said the ministry embraced an "integrated" policy, aimed to achieve axes of the Economic Modernization Vision and work to create a "suitable" tourist environment that attracts additional visitors to the Kingdom.

Ennab's remarks came in a session with the Senate's Finance and Economic Committee, headed by Dr. Rajai Muasher, to discuss the ministry's strategy and budget.

Ennab affirmed the ministry's strategy aligns with the Royal Letter of Designation, which directed the government to increase the sector's contribution to economic growth by developing tourist products, improving related services, and promoting medical tourism.

The ministry's strategy, she noted, aims to enhance "effective" marketing campaigns, reduce impact of seasonal tourism, increase capability to recover, and enhance travel through low-cost transport companies.

On other plans, she said work is "underway" to train the ministry's human resources, in line with the Public Sector Modernization Plan, engage women and people with disabilities in tourist professions and jobs and involve local communities in tourist activities.

The ministry's goals aim to protect Jordan's heritage, improve, restore and rehabilitate archaeological sites, and register them on Islamic and World Heritage List, she pointed out. Petra
