Ammon News - Minister of Finance Abdelhakim Shibli received Director of the Middle East and Central Asia Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Jihad Azour, in the presence of Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan and Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan Adel Sharkas.

During the meeting, which was held on Monday, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Finance, the latest economic developments in the Kingdom and the region were discussed, as well as the most prominent economic reforms that Jordan has recently undertaken within the National Program for Financial and Economic Reform, which has given the national economy the ability to confront ongoing regional challenges.

Azour praised the strength of the national economy and public finances in Jordan despite the difficult circumstances the region is going through, stressing appreciation for the continuation of structural national reforms that would support investment and economic growth.

This meeting comes within the framework of Azour's visit to the Kingdom, which includes holding several meetings with a number of ministers and officials.
