Ammon News - The number of non-Jordanian property ownership transactions increased by 10% in 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, as apartment sales increased by 4% and land sales by 22%, compared to the previous period last year, according to the monthly report of the Department of Lands and Survey (DLS).

The report showed that the number of ownership transactions for non-Jordanian investors during the past year was 2,803 properties, including 1,643 apartments, an increase of 4%, and 1,160 plots of land, an increase of 22%, with an estimated value of JD221.8 million, an increase of 10%, compared to the same period in 2023; including JD140 million, representing 63% for apartments, and JD81.5 million, representing 37% for land.

Iraqi nationality came in first place in non-Jordanian ownership transactions in 2024, with a total of 628 properties, followed by Syrian nationality with a total of 507 properties, Saudi nationality came in third place with a total of 395 properties, followed in fourth place by American nationality with a total of 177 properties.

In terms of value, Iraqi nationality also topped these transactions with an estimated value of JD79 million, representing 36% of the estimated value of non-Jordanian ownership transactions, followed by Syrian nationality in second place with a value of JD27.9 million, representing 13%, American nationality in third place with a value of JD17.7 million, representing 8%, and Saudi nationality in fourth place with a value of JD15.5 million, representing 7%.

In last December, the number of non-Jordanian property ownership transactions increased by 43% to reach 252 properties compared to the same period in 2023, and by 5% compared to last November, as apartment sales increased by 53% with 155 apartments compared to their counterparts in 2023, and by 4% compared to the previous month, and land sales increased by 29% with 97 pieces compared to the same month in 2023, and 7% compared to the previous month.

The estimated value of these transactions amounted to JD21.6 million, an increase of 47% compared to December 2023, and 9% compared to last November, of which JD14.4 million, or 67%, were for apartments, and JD7.2 million, or 33%, were for land.

The Iraqi nationality came in first place in the number of non-Jordanian ownership transactions during December, with a total of 57 properties, followed by the Syrian nationality with a total of 34 properties, the Saudi nationality with a total of 31 properties, and then the American nationality in fourth place, with a total of 21 properties.

In terms of estimated value, Iraqi nationality came in first place with an investment volume of JD6.3 million, representing 30% of the estimated value of non-Jordanian ownership transactions, American nationality came in second with a value of JD2.5 million, representing 12%, and Syrian nationality came in third with an investment volume of JD1.8 million, representing 9%.

The volume of real estate trading in Jordan during 2024 amounted to JD6.69 billion, a decrease of 4% compared to the same period in 2023, according to the monthly report of the Department of Lands and Survey.

The volume of trading in the real estate market in the Kingdom during last December amounted to JD458 million dinars, a decrease of 9% compared to the same period in 2023, and by 11% compared to the previous month, the report indicated.
