Ammon News - The newly appointed Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani called on Jordanians to visit Damascus, stressing that “we are happy to host Jordanians as guests and tourists in their second country, Syria.”
During a press conference held by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi in Amman on Tuesday, Al-Shibani called on Jordanian delegations and companies to visit his country, saying: "We have a real opportunity to achieve sustainable cooperation with Jordan in a way that reflects positively on both countries."
Syria is working to remove the international sanctions imposed on it, which hinder any partnership that reflects positively on the people, and at the same time Syria is working to fulfill its obligations, achieve the sovereignty of its people, and achieve stability for the entire region, al-Shibani said.
The new situation in Syria has ended the threats facing Jordan, most notably Captagon smuggling, he added.
Al-Shibani pointed out that the new administration is working to invest in the diversity within Syria in building the Syrian state in the future, and has decided to form an expanded preparatory committee for the national dialogue that accommodates the comprehensive representation of the Syrian people.
