Ammon News - Minister of Education and Higher Education Azmi Mahafzah and his Qatari counterpart, Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, met to explore opportunities for enhancing cooperation between the two countries in education and research.
The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 14th Conference of Arab Ministers of Education, which concluded Tuesday in Doha. The two ministers discussed a wide range of issues of shared interest between the Kingdom and Qatar.
Mahafzah represented Jordan at the three-day conference, which brought together numerous education and higher education ministers from across the Arab world.
Held under the theme "Comprehensive Education and Empowering Teachers: A Strategic Vision for Education in the Arab World," the event was organized by the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), in collaboration with Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education and the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture, and Science
The discussions focused on key strategic priorities, including expanding access to inclusive and sustainable education, ensuring equity in access to high-quality learning opportunities, and enhancing the integration of individuals with disabilities into educational systems.
The conference also addressed the role of digital transformation in education, utilizing technology to improve learning outcomes, and fostering innovation and research in the sector.
In addition, participants highlighted the importance of empowering teachers, building their capacity, and supporting the development of policies and curricula that enhance educational effectiveness.
The conference also tackled the challenges facing the education sector, emphasizing the need for infrastructure improvements and the continued advancement of digital transformation and innovation to achieve the region’s sustainable development goals. Petra
