Ammon News - Former national taekwondo star Nancy El-Hindi has made history as the first woman in the Middle East and Arab world to apply for the 8th dan taekwondo test in South Korea.
El-Hindi returned to Jordan yesterday from Seoul, where she participated in this international test alongside nine other women, joining an elite global group of taekwondo practitioners.
Her accomplishment underscores her dedication to the sport, which she has represented for many years as a distinguished player and continues to excel in post-retirement.
In an interview, El-Hindi told Petra of her unwavering passion for taekwondo and commitment to achieving new milestones.
Recently elected to the Jordan Taekwondo Federation Board of Directors, she said that while South Korea boasts a significant number of women with 8th dan belts, only one Australian woman has achieved this level internationally, making her feat a source of pride for Jordan and the Arab world.
El-Hindi encouraged taekwondo players, both male and female, to pursue excellence and remain dedicated to their goals. She commended the Jordan Taekwondo Federation’s efforts to nurture emerging talents, a strategy that sustained Jordan’s success in Arab, Asian, Olympic, and international competitions.
Jordanian taekwondo continues to shine globally, earning numerous medals and reinforcing the Kingdom’s reputation as a powerhouse in the sport, and El-Hindi’s achievement adds to this legacy, inspiring future generations of Jordanian athletes to aim higher. Petra
