Ammon News - Eng. Wael Al-Samaeen revealed Jordan's ranking in the 2024 Global Healthcare Index issued by Numbeo, which ranks 47th globally among the best healthcare systems in the world with 65.0 points.
Al-Samaeen said that this ranking reflects the overall performance of the health sector in Jordan based on a set of important criteria, including:
Quality of health infrastructure
• Efficiency of medical personnel
• Availability of medicines
• Speed of medical response
• Cost of health care
• Level of citizen satisfaction
This classification was considered a recognition of the role of the Jordanian health sector in providing distinguished health care services at the regional and international levels. It also reflects the efforts made by the Jordanian government to enhance the health sector, whether through developing government hospitals or strengthening partnerships with the private sector to provide better services.
He said that despite this progress, there are still challenges facing the Jordanian health sector, including:
• Increased demand for health services due to the number of refugees and immigrants.
• Limited financial resources compared to the continuous increase in population.
• The need to improve services in remote areas to ensure equitable distribution of health care throughout the Kingdom.
According to the 2024 Global Healthcare Index by Numbeo, countries are ranked based on the quality of their healthcare systems. This index evaluates several factors, including: skill and competency of medical staff, speed in completing examinations and reports, equipment for modern diagnosis and treatment, accuracy and completeness in filling out reports, friendliness and courtesy of the staff, responsiveness (waitings) in medical institutions, and convenience of location for you.
