Ammon News - Director General of the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), Nizar Mheidat, said Monday that the percentage of violations on facilities decreased during 2024 to less than 4% compared to 2023, and the closure of facilities did not exceed 1%.

Mheidat told Al-Mamlaka Tv that the most of the closures in 2024 were of popular restaurants due to the frequent use of materials such as oils and the introduction of expired materials in the manufacture of food.

The number of violations observed during the olive oil season decreased compared to previous years, he said, adding that the number of violated oil cans did not exceed 250.

Mheidat explained that the monitoring of medicines and food comes as part of the Administration's comprehensive plan to ensure the continuity of monitoring various facilities.
