Vinicius Jr accused of piracy after social media post

Ammon News - La Liga president Javier Tebas made an unexpected comment about Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior in connection with an incident during the Champions League match between Liverpool and Real Madrid.

Tebas claimed that the Real Madrid player watched the match illegally after Vinícius posted a photo of his television screen on Instagram.

Tebas explained that for Spanish viewers, watching the Champions League match legally requires a subscription to Movistar Television, the official broadcaster of the tournament in Spain.

"If this was in Madrid — and I think it was in Madrid — then it's piracy. Access to Champions League content in Spain must be through Movistar Television," Tebas stated.

"To watch this content (on a foreign channel), you would need a VPN or a satellite dish pointed elsewhere. He pirated the match. They have been told not to pirate the match next time," he added.
