Launch of Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2024

Ammon News - The 13th Global Media and Information Literacy Week Conference began on Wednesday, focusing on the theme of New Digital Frontiers of Information and Media Literacy for the Public Good. It was coordinated by UNESCO in collaboration with the Ministry of Government Communication.
The conference, lasting two days and consisting of 5 main sessions, will have over 30 speakers from local, Arab, and international backgrounds discussing the significance of media and information literacy in light of fast-paced changes in information creation, sharing, and consumption, as well as the role of education in advancing media literacy.
The conference aims to promote communication, share information, and strengthen collaboration among various sectors involved in advancing media and information literacy, including government agencies, schools, nonprofit groups, media outlets, and tech firms.
The Global Media and Information Literacy Week has been observed every October since 2011, uniting stakeholders globally to promote national implementation of media and information literacy, and recognize advancements in achieving media and information literacy for all.
