Ammon News - The Civil Status and Passports Department has developed a strategy to speed up the digital transformation process in alignment with its dedication to achieving the government's objectives of advancing electronic transformation.
The Civil Status Department's annual report for the previous year stated that there was electronic connectivity with 36 diplomatic missions offering e-passport services, while 49 diplomatic missions were connected to the department's system. Additionally, the financial payment service was operational in all department offices, as well as electronic payment through the "iFawateercom" system.
The Civil Status Department created 164,690 new accounts last year by utilizing electronic services.
The archives of the Civil Status Department are seen as a valuable asset for all Jordanians, connecting them through different types of records like passports, civil documents, and incident reports. The department has undertaken various initiatives to preserve these important documents.
The Civil Status Department finished storing 199,156 passport and civil status records with a total of 7,356,261 documents last year. Additionally, 187,925 cases without records were archived along with 1,154,845 documents, as well as 70,269 other documents.
2,309 vital event records (birth, death, marriage, divorce) were archived, along with 186,393 documents. Efforts are underway to archive all records from all offices.
