Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi on Thursday will leave for Paris to participate in the international ministerial conference in support of the Lebanese people and their sovereignty, hosted by France, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates announced.

France is organizing, at the initiative of President Emmanuel Macron, the "International Conference in Support of Lebanon," in a new attempt by Paris to influence the future of this economically and politically exhausted country, which is currently being subjected to an Israeli aggression that has so far killed more than 2,400.

The French presidency announced that Macron will hold a meeting on Wednesday at the Elysee Palace with the caretaker Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati.

The French Foreign Ministry did not reveal specific objectives for the conference, nor did it announce the list of participants.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken will not attend the conference, as is Iran, which supports Hezbollah, which has a strong influence on the Lebanese scene.
