Ammon News - The Southern Military Zone at dawn on Monday thwarted an attempt to smuggle large quantities of narcotics loaded by a drone along its western front within its area of responsibility.

A responsible military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) reported that the Border Guard forces in the Southern Military Region, in coordination with the military security services and the Anti-Narcotics Department, thwarted a smuggling attempt using a drone that tried to cross the border illegally.

The rules of engagement were applied, resulting in the downing of the drones' cargo within Jordanian territory. The seized items have been referred to the relevant authorities.

The source confirmed that the JAF are working with all their strength and determination, harnessing all their capabilities to prevent infiltration and smuggling operations by force, in order to maintain the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
