Ammon News - The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Jordan announced Sunday that the original value of cash assistance for basic needs has been restored, based on a slight improvement in funding levels.
In a statement, the UNHCR said that the value of cash assistance provided to nearly 23,000 of the most vulnerable Syrian refugee families outside the camps will be returned to the amount it was before the last reduction, which was 25%.
This decision applies to refugees outside the camps who receive assistance until the end of 2024, explaining that this increase will be effective as of this July, and will be paid as of next August, the UNHCR stressed.
It also expects donor funding to decline in 2025, stressing that it is continuing its efforts to raise funding, at a time when it cannot guarantee the levels and status of assistance for 2025 at this time.
