EMRC expects to replace all electric meters with smart ones next year

Ammon News - The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC), Ziad Saaida, suggested on Tuesday replacing all electric meters with smart ones next year.

During the Government Communication Forum entitled "Renewable energy... smart network... green mobility," Saaida said that the EMRC is continuing to work on modernizing the electric meters, as the percentage of smart meters has reached 40%.

The first station to receive compressed natural gas was opened in Jordan from local sources from the Risha gas field, as the saving rate is 50% compared to using diesel, and 20% compared to using heavy fuel, he added.
