Interior Ministry announces referral of tender for issuing e-passports

Ammon News - A meeting was held at the Ministry of the Interior on Sunday, in the presence of the Minister of Interior, Mazen Faraya, the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Ahmed Hanandeh, the Director General of the Civil Status and Passports Department, Fahd Amoush, and a number of concerned parties, where it was announced that the tender for issuing Jordanian e-passports was awarded in accordance with global international standards and in accordance with the requirements of the World Aviation Organization.

This is considered a qualitative leap in the services provided by the Civil Status and Passports Department to citizens, and at the same time ensures the facilitation of entry procedures for Jordanians through the border centers of countries around the world.

The electronic passport is considered a qualitative addition in terms of increasing the level of classification of the Jordanian passport at the global level according to international standards.

It should be noted that the company to which the tender is awarded will begin its work in the coming days after obtaining the order to proceed in accordance with legal procedures, and the tender will be implemented within a maximum period of 250 days.
