Import, export licenses for cats and dogs cancelled

Ammon News - An internal memorandum from the Ministry of Agriculture revealed that the import and export licenses for pets (cats and dogs) that are imported for shipment and accompanying travelers cancelled.

The Director of the Licensing and Border Centers Directorate in the Ministry of Agriculture, Saad Saaida, and based on the minutes of the Committee for Amending Conditions for Importing Animal Products, decided to cancel the quarantine and release book for pets, provided that the veterinary health certificate that includes the animal’s freedom from rabies is audited, according to the memorandum that seen by Ammon.

Likewise, the animal must obtain the necessary vaccinations for this disease, or check the animal’s vaccination booklet, which indicates that the animal has been vaccinated against rabies, provided that the booklet is certified by government veterinary authorities.

The memorandum also stipulated that the number of the traveler’s pets should not exceed 2 of each type, "2 dogs and 2 cats."
