The operation resulted in the death of 5 smugglers, the injury of 4 others, the source said. The source confirmed that large quantities of drugs were seized, and the seized items were transferred to the competent authorities. The source stressed also that the army will continue to strike with "an iron fist" any smuggling or infiltration attempt targeting national security.

Ammon News - The Eastern Military Zone, in coordination with other security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), at dawn on Sunday thwarted an attempt to infiltrate and smuggle large quantities of narcotic substances coming from Syrian territory, according to an official military source in the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.
