Ammon News - The Audit Bureau report revealed an increase in tax and customs evasion cases for the year 2022 compared to 2021, based on the records of the Income and Sales Tax Department and the Jordanian Customs Department.
The report stated that the number of customs evasion cases in 2022 reached 6,478, while in 2021 was 5,893, and in 2020 4,921.
As for the number of tax evasion cases, it reached 692 cases in 2022, and 555 cases in 2021, and in 2020 it reached 665 cases.
The report also called for a commitment to actually implementing the penalties contained in the law, activating oversight systems to address gaps, making penalties proportionate to the extent of evasion, and providing a sufficient database.
