Jordan dispatches 17 aid planes to Gaza since start of crisis

Ammon News - The Jordanian Hashemite Charitable Organization (JHCO) has sent 17 aid planes since the beginning of the war in the Strip, in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, the Jordanian Armed Forces/Air Force, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF).

The planes carried various humanitarian aid, including medical materials, medicines, medicines for dialysis patients, food parcels, ready-made meals, clothes, health parcels, baby formula, and medical materials intended for children.

Relief and medical aid and clothing were delivered to the Egyptian Red Crescent to be brought through the Rafah crossing into the Gaza Strip, to be delivered and distributed to the health sector and official agencies working in Gaza through the Palestinian Red Crescent and the UNRWA.

JHCO's Secretary-General, Hussein Shibli, said: “Since the beginning of the recent events, we have worked to send needs and overcome the challenges we faced in terms of quantity and speed to secure them for our people in Gaza and support the various sectors that were affected, some of which were out of service.”

The JHCO worked in coordination and cooperation with a number of international, regional and local humanitarian organizations, private companies, popular initiatives and government agencies to collect cash and in-kind donations according to the lists of needs received from the Gaza Strip, Shibli stated.

The plane dispatch operation was accompanied by ground convoys carrying 286 tons of food parcels, ready-made meals, relief materials, and clothes, he pointed.
