Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of Al-Shifa Medical Hospital in occupied Gaza as a violation of international humanitarian law, especially the 1949 Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilians in time of war, holding Israel responsible for the safety of civilians and the medical staff working in the hospital.
The official spokesman for the Ministry Sufian Qudah said that the continuation of the senseless attacks and the raging war on Gaza and its people, the targeting of civilian objects in the Strip, the continued systematic destruction of civilian facilities that provide basic services to Gazans, and the policy of collective punishment represent a condemnable continuation of grave violations of international humanitarian law and human rights, and constitute war crimes.
Qudah stressed that the dangerous conditions in Gaza require the Security Council to bear its legal responsibility and that the international community must bear its moral responsibilities and work to pressure Israel to stop its continued aggression, war, and targeting of civilians, especially women and children.
