FM heads to Riyadh to participate in preparatory meeting for Arab League summit

Ammon News - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs, Ayman Safadi, began Thursday a working visit to Riyadh to participate in the preparatory ministerial meeting for the extraordinary session of the Council of the Arab League at the summit level, which is hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

An emergency summit of Arab League Council will be held in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, on November 11, after a Palestinian-Saudi request, to discuss the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people, especially the Gaza Strip.

Palestinian Permanent Representative to the the Arab League Mohannad Aklouk told Al-Mamlaka TV that Palestine submitted a joint request with Saudi Arabia, in its capacity as President of the current session of the Council of the League of Arab States, to the General Secretariat of the League to hold an emergency summit in light of the war on the Gaza Strip.

There will be a preparatory meeting of foreign ministers for the summit, the date of which has not been set yet, Aklouk said.
