Dutch seismologist Frank Hoogerbeets warned of the possibility of the heavy Israeli bombing of Gaza causing a major earthquake.

"The world should force Israel to stop this insanity. Human stupidity," Hoogerbeets wrote in a post on his account on X.

Hoogerbeets had previously warned of the possibility of devastating earthquakes, most notably the earthquake that struck Turkey on February 6, which left more than 50,000 dead and tens of thousands injured, as he expected this to happen 3 days ago.
