Ammon News - The Lower House of Parliament said that what is occurring in Gaza is a heinous war crime committed by Israel in plain view of the world, amid the international community's silence and inaction, expressing its rejection of attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their lands.
The House released a statement on Tuesday in which it expressed its support for King Abdullah II's endeavors to put an end to the aggression against Gaza, safeguard innocent civilians, and provide them with essential aid, displaying great admiration for the staff of the Jordanian field hospital, who continued to fulfill their mission despite the bombing and destruction.
Jordan has repeatedly issued warnings through many speeches of His Majesty King Abdullah II, stating that the absence of a comprehensive and just solution to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution would continue to keep the region in a state of tension and unrest, it added.
It indicated that the Israeli occupation had gone too far in its tyranny, practicing various forms of terrorism, abuse and destruction against civilians, hospitals, health centers, mosques, and schools.
"The equation has come to light as a result of media misrepresentation that presents the criminal as a victim. What else can we describe the carnage in Gaza than terrorism itself and a stark illustration of the extreme right-wing politics of the Israeli government, which continues to disregard all attempts to end the conflict and international legitimate resolutions. Instead, it went farther and reinforced its control over Gaza by cutting off access to food, water, and electricity," it stated.
The House affirmed that the main cause for the escalation in the pace of war today is the international denial of Palestinian rights and the condoning of the practices of the occupation. "The silence of the international community regarding the crimes committed by the occupation is no longer acceptable in any way."
The influential and active forces involved in international decision-making, it added, are put to the test of humanity and morality, and they must stop dealing with this ugly dichotomy.
