Ammon News - Ministry of Health has developed a rapid plan to limit measles cases to limit its spread, due to its rapidly transmitted.
Minister of Health Firas Al-Hawari noted that an infected person can transmit the infection to 18 people.
"The Ministry worked in parallel with the plan to limit measles infections by planning a measles vaccination campaign", Al-Hawari said Thursday, during a meeting of the Health Committee in the Senate with the Minister of Health and a number of deans of medical colleges regarding the MR vaccine.
He added that the Ministry has begun giving a special measles to its staff to protect them, as the vaccine will begin to be administered during the coming period, noting that: “We have 5 or 6 weeks ahead of us, and we must not cause harm to the national vaccination program.”
In 2013, Jordan used the same special MR vaccine against measles, giving 4 million doses of it, he stated.
The Dean of School of Medicine, Yasser Rayyan said that there are 3 or 4 studies at the University of Jordan that have proven the effectiveness of vaccination programs, and that no certificate is required.
