Foreign Ministry loses communication with Jordanian family in Libya due to floods

Ammon News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs said that the Ministry's Operations Center Unit received, Saturday evening, a phone call from a Jordanian citizen residing in Libya, stating that the home of a Jordanian family residing in the Libyan city of Derna had collapsed as a result of the recent floods.

In a statement, the ministry's official spokesperson Sinan Majali confirmed that the Operations Center Unit contacted a relative of the family consisting of six members, who confirmed that communication with them had been lost since the floods occurred.

The Ministry, through the Operations Center Unit and the Jordanian Embassy in Tunisia, is following up with the competent authorities in Libya, to find out the fate of the family, Majali added.
