Fuheis Festival kicks off Tuesday with participation of Jordanian, Arab artists

Ammon News - The 31st edition of the Fuheis Festival activities starts on Tuesday, August 15, which will last for 5 days, and include several activities, with the participation of Jordanian and Arab artists.
The festival, which began in 1990, will be attended by Jordanian artists Hussam and Wissam Al-Lawzi, Mahmoud Sultan, Ghada Abbasi, Rami Shafiq, Mahmoud and Hadi Khalil, Saed Hattar, Jihad Sarkis, and Saad Abu Tayeh.
Arab artists include Walid Tawfiq, Wael Jassar, and Joseph Attia will also participate in the festival.
Director of Fuheis Festival Ayman Samawi said, that there are financial difficulties facing the festival, including: "There are not enough funds to organize the opening of a carnival that costs between JD30-40 thousand."
The festival will be opened under the auspices of Prince El Hassan bin Talal on Tuesday, at 7 pm, on the main stage of the Greek Orthodox School, according to Samawi, adding that the care of Prince El Hassan bears the festival with a great responsibility.
"The Festival presents a cultural message to Jordan and the world, and is one of the national achievements," Mayor of Fuheis Omar Akroush said.
He indicated that the Municipality of Fuheis is a major partner in preparing Fuheis Festival.
