Earlier this morning, Safadi and Perotta also held the first round of political consultations held by the two countries.

The two ministers affirmed joint keenness to strengthen the two countries' "growing" friendship in various fields, in implementation of the two friendly countries' leaderships.

Safadi and Perotta signed an agreement on mutual exemption from visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports, and two memorandums of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the diplomatic training field between the two countries' foreign ministries.

The duo also signed another MoU in the field of population-related cooperation and urban development, between Jordanian and Rwandan governments.

Jordan and Rwanda previously signed 7 agreements and MoUs in the context of their efforts to complete the legal frameworks necessary to increase joint cooperation.

In joint press statements with his Rwandan counterpart, Safadi affirmed bilateral keenness to enhance cooperation in various fields, in implementation of directives of the two countries' leaderships and build on the talks that took place in Kigali in February 2023.

Safadi also added that today's talks went over multiple sectors of common interest, primarily trade, tourism, fertilizers, medicine, and cooperation in the defense field.

Stressing importance of the "growing" cooperation between the two countries' private sectors, Safadi referred to a visit made by a delegation of Jordanian Engineers Association (JEA) to Rwanda at the beginning of 2023, and the scheduled trip of representatives from Rwandan private sector to Jordan before end of 2023.

Safadi valued Rwanda's "active" role in the Aqaba Process meetings, which aim to mobilize resources to combat terrorism collectively, stressing importance of talks scheduled to be hosted soon by Rwanda in the context of the Aqaba Process to discuss combating terrorism in Africa.

Moreover, Safadi said talks focused on a number of regional and international issues of common concern, and efforts to resolve conflicts and establish the region's stability and security and in Africa.

For his part, Perotta voiced gratitude for the invitation to visit Jordan, adding that: "We had the opportunity to meet twice, once during an official visit to Rwanda, and again during the Aqaba Process meetings in Cordoba, Spain."

Perotta said current visit to Amman is part of a decision taken last February to continue the strategic dialogue in multiple areas of common interest.

Perotta noted this meeting is an opportunity to sign more cooperation agreements, while continuing to strengthen joint cooperation in vital sectors, primarily housing, urban development, and training.
