Ammon News - The Industrial Producers' Prices Index decreased in the first half of 2023 by 2.63 percent to 136.12 points against 139.79 points for the same period last year.
The monthly report of the Department of Statistics released Monday attributed the decline to the manufacturing industries and electricity prices going down by 4.20 percent and 6.25 percent, respectively, while extractive industries climbed up by 18.20 percent.
The report indicated an 8.87-percent decrease in the index for the month of June 2023, amounting to 133.07 points compared to 146.01 points in June 2022.
The report also revealed that the monthly decline was due to manufacturing industry prices retreating by 11.35 percent, while the index of extractive industries and electricity increased by 13.92 percent and 0.04 percent, respectively.
