Ammon News - SEAC 2023 successfully connected Jordanian renewable energy experts and local EPC companies
Solarity Energy Awareness Conference (SEAC 2023) took place on Thursday, July 27, at Zara Expo, aiming to enhance and educate all the parties in the renewable energy sector in Jordan. This event was organized by Solarity Jordan for the second time, as in the previous year, with the support and cooperation of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Amman.
Eng. Mu’ayyad Al Momani, Regional Manager of Solarity Middle East, started the conference by welcoming experts from the academic, governmental, and private sectors and especially H.E. Mr. Alexandr Sporys / Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Amman and Mrs. Eng. Ladislava Cerna expert on diagnostics of photovoltaic systems from Czech Technical University in Prague.
H.E. Mr. Alexandr Sporys, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Amman in his opening remarks, mentioned the importance of enhancing cooperation in the field of renewable energy, and also following the effort to fulfill Sustainable Development Goals agreed by UN members.
Mrs. Eng. Ladislava Cerna, an expert on diagnostics of photovoltaic systems from Czech Technical University in Prague as a SEAC 2023 keynote speaker, emphasized how important it is to work on deepening the connections between academic research and the industry.
It is worth mentioning that the conference met with extraordinary interest from participants from the main Jordanian energy companies, representatives of foreign companies (such as Canadian Solar, SMA Solar Middle East and Africa, JA Solar and SOLAX Power, Huawei, and Fronius), official institutions (especially Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), Energy & Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC), Electricity Distribution Co (EDCO), Irbid District Electricity Co. Ltd.(IDECO) and German Energy Academy in Jordan (GEA)).
After the first part, where the audience received information about the transition process towards green energy sources and how to prepare legislative, technical, and infrastructure part there were lectures about the latest technologies and news from suppliers and manufacturers.
Last but not least, part was the panel discussion led by Eng. Samer Zawaydeh, an independent consultant where the topics like how the legislative process can help to stabilize the grid and new demands on the grid that new PV sources will bring.
