Ammon News - Representative of the communications and information technology sector in Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Haitham Rawjbeh, said digital transformation is a basic business strategy that contributes to supporting Jordan's economic sectors and providing high-quality services to citizens.
"Jordan was one of the first countries in the region that adopted digital transformation in multiple economic fields, especially the financial, agricultural, industrial and health services sectors," Rawajbeh said in a statement following a meeting, organized by Ma'an Chamber of Commerce on Thursday for commercial and industrial sectors in Petra region.
Rawajbeh added that digital transformation is a "major" driver of economic and social development, which requires accelerating digitization of more government services.
This process, he noted, slashes operational costs, contributes to streamlining and accelerating procedures for services provided to citizens, creates environment for providing "high quality and transparent" services, monitors performance and networks public and private sectors to ensure data quality and protection.
He said Jordan Digital Transformation Strategy and Implementation Plan 2021-2025 provide a "strategic" framework for the Kingdom's digital transformation, and highlights necessary "crucial" requirements, to keep pace with global progress in digital transformation, and improve delivery of government services.
Locally, he referred to the government services that are provided at "Sanad" application, which increased "significantly" over the recent period.
Moreover, he said Economic Modernization Vision (EMV) noted necessity of accelerating pace of digital transformation of the public sector by launching partnerships with the private sector, which has "remarkable" experience in this regard.
Rawajbeh noted multiple Jordanian companies have implemented digital transformation projects in Arab countries.
