Ammon News - Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh received President and CEO of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) David Miliband on Thursday for talks over refugee affairs.

During the meeting, the premier briefed Miliband on the services Jordan offers to refugees despite the economic strain it's facing, worsened by the Corona pandemic.

Khasawneh said the Kingdom is facing increasing pressure from the burden of hosting refugees due to the decrease in international support for Jordan's response plan to the Syrian crisis.

It is important for the international community, organizations, and donors to maintain solidarity in addressing the impact of refugee crises, he stated.

Miliband highlighted the efforts of IRC in Jordan, which involve providing humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of refugees.

The IRC is a non-governmental organization founded in 1933 to support humanitarian aid and international development efforts.
