26-07-2023 12:46 PM

Ammon News - The Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) on Wednesday announced the unveiling of the fifth edition of the 10-dinar banknote for circulation. This new banknote showcases the portrait of the late King Talal bin Abdullah, in remembrance of his significant contributions to the Kingdom.

Commencing today, the new banknote will be in circulation alongside the existing fourth edition 10-dinar banknote.

In a statement, the CBJ emphasized that the fourth edition 10-dinar banknote will continue to be legal tender, ensuring a smooth transition during the introduction of the new edition.

Additionally, the CBJ confirmed that the issuance of a new 5-dinar banknote will be announced at a later date.

"What sets the fifth edition apart is its incorporation of the latest security features utilized in modern currency printing. This state-of-the-art technology aims to safeguard the banknote against counterfeiting and maintain public trust in the currency. Moreover, the banknote's enhanced quality is expected to prolong its lifespan in circulation, reducing the frequency of replacements," the statement added.
