Ammon News - The Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC) and the Jordan Customs Department (JCD) have reached a consensus to establish a joint high-level committee, as well as other sub-committees, aimed at addressing the commercial sector's requirements and activating the two sides' council to remove obstacles and streamline procedures.
During a coordination meeting, JCC president Khalil Haj Tawfiq emphasized the importance of simplifying and facilitating procedures for traders, commending the department's efforts in implementing the open-door policy and presenting developmental projects that facilitate trade and its flow.
JCD Director-General Maj. Gen. Jalal Qudah stated that the department is committed to maintaining permanent collaboration with various government entities and economic sectors to ease import and export protocols, improve mechanisms and offer all feasible facilitation to clients through the computerization of procedures based on the most recent global practices.
As per a statement issued on Sunday, the two sides discussed several matters and inquiries pertaining to the commercial sector, with a particular emphasis on challenges related to e-commerce, postal parcel trade, national value and window, pre-clearance, the golden list, inspection procedures, targeting, estimation, open customs commitments, and the mechanism for issuing replacement certificates.
